Passionate about building something more, projects that provide solutions in our community are special to our team. Miles Terrace is one of those projects, and we are proud to see how far this development has come since our initial concept.

Ginn Group first became known in Vancouver for success centered around single-family luxury homes. Over time, after reflecting on market data, we have adapted our business model to address the most significant needs in our community. We began providing solutions for the rising affordability concerns by adding economically designed townhomes and multifamily communities to our portfolio.

The striking modern exterior is beautiful, and it also reveals the evolution of Miles Terrace. Over time, what started as an urban apartment targeting young professionals has become affordable senior housing. A bit of a departure for Ginn Group, this project is a testament to the vision of our leadership, our talented teams, and our community partnerships.

The idea of Miles Terrace came to fruition when the shortage of housing, especially affordable housing, was dominating the headlines. With national housing shortages in all categories, the concern surrounding the crisis facing our elderly generation hasn’t gotten as much attention but has become a steadily increasing issue.  The AARP Foundation explains that this is not a short-term issue and states that “by 2030, one in every five Americans will be over age 65, and our nation will face a severe shortage in appropriate housing to meet their needs.”

Miles Terrace, our first low-rise building, comprises 69 apartments, will provide seniors ages 62 and up a comfortable place to call home, and is conveniently located minutes from downtown Vancouver

In 2019, Ginn Group began working with various non-profits to learn more about affordable housing solutions and eventually partnered with the Vancouver Housing Authority to address this growing demand and local need. With a shared passion for community, our organizations are working to supply much-needed, affordable housing for senior residents of Vancouver, earning 50 percent or less of the area median income through the Miles Terrace development.

Miles Terrace, our first low-rise building, comprises 69 apartments, will provide seniors ages 62 and up a comfortable place to call home, and is conveniently located minutes from downtown Vancouver. Our teams optimized the plans based on the unique needs of our future residents by including features such as a covered street-level parking complex, common areas for gathering, community laundry rooms, and elevator access.

We have come a long way since our first meetings in early 2018. This spring, our construction teams will be focused on the final details and concluding our role as the general contractor on this project. We anticipate transitioning this VHA-owned apartment building in June 2022 and looking forward to celebrating as residents start moving in.
